Antique Georgian Pinchbeck & Natural Moonstone Brooch / Pin (Code A799)

Description

A rare early 19th Century late Georgian period brooch.  It has eight round moonstones and two teardrop shaped examples.  They are bezel set into a pinchbeck mount with milled edges. The moonstones are white as opposed to the blue tint more commonly seen on later items.  The stones have natural inclusions and lines which can be seen under low magnification.  Quite a good size for the period and now quite scarce.

Condition: Small chips to the ends of the two teardrop shaped stones.  General wear as expected for period.  Slight knocks to the metal but nothing significant. Pin and hinge working fine.
