Antique Victorian Silver Brooch With Hand Painted Exotic Bird Miniature c.1880 (Code A1010)

Description

An antique silver brooch with a hand painted insert.  The painting is of a exotic bird in bright colours in the landscape.  It is quite finely painted with lots of detail.  The glass is bevelled around the edges and set in a bezel mount.  There is a rope twist decorative border around the brooch and an old style pin dating to the late 19th century.  The backing material looks to be a replacement of fairly modern date.  

A very pretty item.

Condition:  Very good for period.  Pin working fine with minor bending.  Painting good with possibly minor losses.
