Description

A beautiful vintage peacock brooch with a cascading tail of oval cut garnets.  The body is set with marcasites and there is a further garnet to the eye.  It is marked 925 to the reverse for Sterling silver and also has a maker's mark NW (or possibly) MN.  It is fitted with a roll over catch and the item likely dates to the late Art Deco period, perhaps around 1940.  The brooch is quite substantially constructed with a good quantity of silver along with the gemstones.
