Antique Coalport China Named View Shaped Dessert Dish Loch Awe and Kilchurn Castle (Code 2834)
Description
A Coalport china shallow shaped dish hand painted with a named view scene. The scene is entitled to the reverse 'Loch Awe' and there is the Coalport mark dating c1890-1920. The scene is of Kilchurn castle in the distance looking across the loch. The border is in green and there is detailed grape and vine gilt work and gilt line work to the handles.
The dish is in the shape of a shallow dessert dish, but these hand painted examples were more commonly used for display rather than use.
Condition
The condition is particularly good for the period with just slight wear.
