Description
A good quality Georgian Regency period decanter in the Anglo-Irish style. It has a prismatic cut neck and step cuts into the main body. The body has convex pillars which are carved out from the solid body interspersed with panels of fine diamonds. This design is difficult to produce due to the amount of cutting needed for the pillars and only seen on higher end pieces. The glass is also quite bright, typical of Anglo-Irish work of the period. The stopper appears to be the original with matching panels and is hollow blown. Holds a standard bottle of wine with room to spare.
Condition
Good for period, minor wear and a few slight chips and nicks to the body. Good authentic wear to the base. Chips to stopper peg. Slight clouding to interior base.
