Set 6 Antique Victorian Wine Glasses iGreen Tone - Richardsons Stourbridge c1870 (Code 2754)
A set of six good quality Victorian wine glasses in a green tone. These would have been used for white wine and date to the mid Victorian period c1860-70. They have broad flute cut panels to the bowls and the cutting extends down the stems. The stems are hollow blow (sealed at top and bottom) and the feet are conical with the pontil scars ground and polished out. The design suggests they were likely made by the Richardsons glass factory in Stourbridge, the firm being known as Hodgetts, Richardson and Pargeter during this period.
Victorian glasses generally have smaller capacities than we enjoy today, these are quite generous for the period at about 4 fl.oz so perfectly useable today. They are all hand made and hand cut.
All very good for period with slight wear. Handmade, so slight variations between the glasses.
