Description
An early 20th century antique Japanese copper plated antimony candlestick. It is decorated with dragons with one wrapped around the column and further examples around the base. In keeping with many Japanese candlesticks the column is open all the way down, being a hollow tube with a taper. Although Japanese antimony boxes can still be found regularly, candlestick appear rather scarce.
Condition
Wear, to the plating and also polishing of the fine detail to the decoration. A small split to the flange at one corner of the base, probably from being dropped and re-straightened.
