Verlys Art Deco French Glass Dish with Duck and Pond c1930 (Code 0360)
An Art Deco period French art glass dish by Verlys. Verlys were one of the factories who took inspiration from Lalique and produced their own range along a similar theme. This example features a duck perched at the edge of perhaps a small pond. There are moulded bubbles (raised dots) to the underside of the dish which look rather like raindrops. The dish has a moulded mark 'Verlys France'. The glass is clear but has a slight tint, and the duch and outside of the pond area are satinised. It could be used for a number of uses, as a desk ornament for paperclips etc; as a small bonbon or compliment dish; or perhaps as a soap dish. A very stylish example.
Very good order, little sign of wear, very minor air bubble inclusions in the glass.
