Pair Antique Scrolling Solid Brass Wall Sconce / Piano Girondelle Candlesticks (Code 0864)

A pair of well made late 19th or early 20th century solid brass folding girondelle candle holders.  These were often used on pianos, dressing furniture and around mirrors, but of course you can use them where you wish.  They have fancy scrolled detail and decorative mounting plates.  They pivot on the mount plate and will go left or right.  The drip pans and sconces unscrew for ease of cleaning.  The brass is lacquered and this has kept them at a good natural colour over the years, the lacquer is wearing at some points and there is some oxidisation (darkening) at these points - see images.  You could of course strip the lacquer and bright polish them if you prefer the shiny look.

 

Normal period wear, no significant faults.
