Description

A 19th century Victorian period mourning locket.  It is unmarked but the frame tests as 22ct gold.  It is set with polished onyx and there is a hinged glazed door to the interior.  To the top there is a suspension loop and jump ring.  The locket could have been used for a photo or lock of hair.  To the front is a gold cartouche which has been left blank.

Condition: Suspension loop appears to be a replacement and is not gold.  Typical period wear with some light indenting to the gold and minor wear to the onyx.  Hinge appears good and glazed panel also in good order.
