Antique 18ct Gold & Five Diamond (0.25ct) Ring With Fancy Yellow Central Diamond (A1178)

An antique George V period 18ct gold and diamond ring.  It has five diamonds set in a line, the central diamond is 2.75mm and in total there is approx a 1/4 carat of diamonds.  The diamonds are particularly lively and the centre stone is a yellow diamond with a lemon tint. The colour is visible to the naked eye and gives a contrast with the outer small diamonds.  The diamonds are set in a navette shape with decorative scroll work lifting them above the band.  Inside the band are nice clear hallmarks for London 1916.  There is also a maker's mark but it is quite poorly struck. 

For the age it is in particularly good condition with no significant thinning of the band and the diamonds are also in good order and of a much higher standard than usually found at this period.  Although being quite elegant the line of diamonds produces a good sparkling effect which makes it stand out given its relatively small dimensions.  Perfect for somebody looking for elegant sparkle.

Condition:   Particularly good for period.  Wear is very restrained and diamonds are particularly bright and lively and it enjoys the benefit of a fancy yellow diamond to the centre.
