Description

An early style of rummer glass dating around 1800 to the George III period.  It has a cup shaped bowl with the stem being drawn together with the bowl.  The foot is slightly conical and the pontil scar has been rough snapped.  It is made from lead glass and would be an English example.  Rummers were generally multi purpose glasses used for beer and weak alcoholic beverages and also used for water etc.  

 

Condition

Good for period, wear is relatively low with a few scratches.  There are some inclusions including a lengthwise example just below the rim.  Wear to the foot rim.
