19th Century James Dudson Wheatsheaf Pattern Moulded Jug in Blue Glaze (Code 2435)
A late Victorian moulded jug by James Dudson. It is known as the Wheatsheaf pattern for obvious reasons and the jug is one of the Dudson standard designs of the period. This design was made for quite a number of years, this example is simply marked 'England' to the base in a crescent likely dating it post 1891. The design was available in a number of sizes and glaze colours with the white and green being most common and the blue as here a little less common.
Very good for period, wear is very low. The usual minor production imperfections for the period. Lip has sunk a little to one side in the kiln.
