9ct Gold Engagement Ring With Orange Padparadscha Sapphire & Diamond Accents (Code A535)
A 9 carat gold ring set with a rare yellow-orange padparadscha sapphire, the stone is probably from Sri Lanka. The main stone is surrounded with diamonds to both sides with six in total at the top of the shoulders. The stones are all set in raised cathedral style prongs. The ring is marked to the inside of the band with a full London hallmark, the date letter is somewhat unclear but is probably for the 1980's. The maker's mark is also present listed as SJ and it also has the 375 gold mark.
Given the style and period this may have been intended as an engagement ring but of course you can enjoy it for any purpose you wish. A very pretty example of an uncommon stone with lovely diamond accents.
