A Carlton Ware Lozenge Noir Dish With Mallard Duck Decoration - Art Deco c.1930 (Code 8074)
A Carlton Ware (Wiltshaw & Robinson Ltd) lozenge shaped dish dating to the Art Deco period. It has a glossy black ground and is decorated with mallards and flowers. The decoration is gilt lined and there is enamel jewelling to the birds and to the flower details.
The rim is gilded as are the open handles at each end. To the underside is the Carlton Ware mark in black and this item is detailed as being hand painted.
A very smart looking item and not a common pattern.
A few light surface scratches to the interior. Otherwise in very good order with no chips, cracks or restoration.
