An Antique Georgian Amethyst Glass Rummer or Sweetmeat Glass with Folded Foot (Code 0347)
An interesting amethyst glass sweetmeat glass or perhaps shallow rummer. It appears to be late 18th or early 19th century in period and features a folded foot. The pontil is rough snapped and there are pincer marks to the bowl from the glass blowers tooling. The stem has an early baluster glass look to it, but the construction and other features point at date around 1790-1810. It is of lead glass and almost certainly English production.
Some wear and some scratches around the bowl. Wear to the foot. Pontil rough snapped. Rim undulates a little.
