An Antique Georgian Period Spice/Herb Carousel/Caddy/Rack With Later Glass Jars (Code 7095)
An early 19th century hardwood rotating herb jar carousel with later glass jars. It was perhaps originally a condiment stand, but is very effective and attractive in its current role. The carousel has a turned wood base and shaft with a looped brass handle. The caddy has five openings for jars and two smaller holes which may be used for spoons or serving utensils. Small turned wood spindles hold the two caddy plates apart.
The spice jars are of good quality mid 20th Century production and have turned hardwood lids with interior screw cap and these fit onto five moulded glass bottles. Please note the herbs shown in the pictures are for display only and you will receive the item with empty bottles.
A lovely looking piece of kitchenalia which has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
Carousel in good order for period. Minor marks and aging. Small tight split to lower shelf. Wear to the metal mounts as you would expect. Bottles all in good order and fine for use. A smart looking item.
