An Antique Wedgwood Green Jasper Ware Oval Plaque circa 1900 (Code 8226)
An antique Wedgwood green jasper ware plaque dating around the turn of the 19th century. The plaque features a classical figure with lyre, paintbrush and quiver, emblematic of music, art and hunting respectively.
The plaque is of oval, slightly convex form and is of green jasper dip production. These plaques were produced for decoration and also sometimes set into furniture and other decorative items.
To the reverse the plaque is impressed Wedgwood England.
Good order for type and period, no significant faults. Slight signs of a brownish line running around periphery to left side, perhaps from previous framing.
