Antique 18ct Gold Ring with Cornflower Sapphires and Old Cut Diamonds B'Ham 1912 (Code A285)
An antique 18 carat gold set with three cornflower blue sapphires and four diamonds. The diamonds are old cut and the sapphires are oval faceted. The gems are set proud of the band in the early 20th century style. It has a full Birmingham hallmark for 1912 making it a George V example. The makers mark is for Soloman Blanckensee & Sons who operated in Birmingham, they were a well known and successful silversmiths and jewellers of the period.
Lovely toned sapphires in this example which are probably Ceylonese, the main stone is approx .42 carats. The rings shoulders have decorative designs and the open nature of the setting allows light through to show off the gems.
