Antique Anglo-Indian Silver Pickle or Spice Bowl with Elephant & Lion Panels (Code 2181)
A late 19th century Indian silver repousse bowl with gilded interior. At the size and with the gilt interior it was likely intended for pickles or sauce/spices. It stands on three feet which are formed in the shape of fishes. There are no marks which is as expected, it tests as silver around the .800 standard. The lobed panels around the body are decorated with various wild animals and flora. The style suggests it may be of Kutch origin and dating around 1880.
A good example, some wear to the gilt but it is generally intact. Wear to the body is low and detail is good. One small indent to the body of one of the elephant forms
