Antique Bristol Green Wine Glass - William IV Period c1835 - English Lead Glass (Code 2360)
An early 19th century English wine glass in Bristol green glass. This example likely dates to the William IV period c1835. It has a cup shaped bowl of larger capacity than usual for the period, the stem is also quite slender for the period. It is made from lead glass in three parts with the bowl, stem and foot joined during manufacture. It is made from high quality lead glass and the pontil scar area has been extensively ground and polished out. There is also a slight bevel on the topside of the foot rim. Overall a high quality example and the generous proportions for the period make it a good candidate to use should you wish.
