Antique Chinese Porcelain Famille Rose Hand Painted Shaped Dish Qianlong/Jiaqing (Code 0896)
A late 18th or early 19th century Chinese porcelain hand painted shaped dish in the famille rose pallette. It is of ovoid form with protrusions around the rim and a decorative border with gilt. It is hand painted with floral motifs over the plain white ground. The body is porcelain and quite thick with a yellow tint to the translucency. There are no character or reign marks and the ground is a little rippled as often found with pieces from this period. A nice looking example.
Normal period wear, slight losses to enamels and gilt rubbing. Slight production flaws as usual with some frit adhered to the foot rim.
