Antique Chinese Silver Filigree & Simulated Ivory Panels Bracelet Etched With Birds (Code A302)
A beautiful antique Chinese silver and simulated ivory panel bracelet. This chunky bracelet has four panels finely etched with birds in pine branches. The panels are approx 2.2 x 1.6cm and these are set into silver filigree mounts of a lovely high quality. There is further decorative detail to the two panels with the clasp which uses a spring latch type opening. This latch has the word silver stamped into it. There is a safety chain to help prevent loss when wearing. There are no makers' marks and it would date c.1880 - 1910.
Please note the decoration is etched into the panels and the design is visible due to residue from cleaning the silver being lodged in the engraving. Thus if you clean this item with detergent or get strong cleaners on it the design will disappear, but will come back once you clean the silver and rub the reside back into the etching (a bit like a magic trick!!).
