Antique Copper & Brass Metal Riveted Pub Drip Pan/Tray with Grid & Handle (Code 1175)
An interesting copper drip pan acquired from an old pub. It would appear to be of 19th century period and is of riveted copper and brass construction with a tinned or zinc coated interior. The handle is fixed and down not swing and the grid is removable. There are no makers marks and it was perhaps made to order by a local craftsman at the time. As well as the original use it could of course be employed for other purposes such as a small herb trough.
A period utility piece with wear, knocks etc as you would expect. One cross strap missing from the removable grid. Certainly an unusual item.
