Antique Dudson Blue Stoneware Moulded Tulip Jug - Victorian c1860 (Code 2476)
A mid 19th century James Dudson moulded jug in the tulip pattern. It has a stoneware body and a gloss blue glaze inside and out. The applied strap handle has a tulip bud near the top and there is a pronounced pouring lip. No marks on this example, but it is a known Dudson design, and one of the moulds for this design is (or was) in the Dudson museum in Stoke.
Very good for period, minor wear. Some wear to the base and rim, and minor production flaws as expected for such items. Some glaze crazing.
