Antique George V Sterling Silver Pierced Work Pedestal Bonbon Dish Navette Shape (Code 2506)
An antique early 20th century sterling silver bonbon dish. It has pierced sides and scrolled handles with a pedestal base and knopped stem. It has a Birmingham hallmark for 1911 to the first full year of the reign of George V and placing it at the end of the Art Nouveau period. The makers mark is probably for Henry Matthews. This would have been used for sweets or fancies originally.
Minor wear but generally very good. Slight sign of compression to center of rim on one side likely from an old knock.
