Antique Georgian Period Bohemian Silesian Engraved Glass Wine Goblet c1780 (Code 1247)
This late 18th century Bohemian wine goblet is finely blown in soda glass. It has a Silesian style stem which is hollow blown and the bowl has panel moulded detail. There is simple engraving around the top of the bowl. The foot is of conical form and has a rough snapped pontil and a folded edge. The folded edge significantly increases the strength and resists chipping. A nice example of this early glass.
Very good for period, little wear. Tiny air bubbles and mineral inclusions as expected for soda glass.
