Antique Georgian Petal Moulded Rummer Drinking Glass, English c1820 (2947)
An early 19th century rummer glass. It is hand made and the petal decoration to the bowl is produced by blowing the glass into an iron mould. It has a pronounced merese joint to the capstan stem and the foot is conical with a rough snapped pontil. It is produced in English lead glass and dates around 1820.
Surprisingly good for period, the wear is very limited. A small mineral inclusion in the bowl, nice tooling marks to the foot as the blower was manipulating the glass.
