Description
An early 19th century Georgian period cup formed from a polished coconut half with silver plated copper mounts. It has a pedestal style base with decorative ribbed detail which is reflected in the rim mount. There are no makers details which is usual for such pieces. The cup is fixed to the base using a screw fastener and the coconut is quite a large example.
Condition
Wear to the silver plating revealing the copper beneath. Some faults to the rim mount - small splits & indents. Minor natural flaws to the coconut.
