Antique Indian Kutch Silver Small/Christening Tankard with Village Scene c1880 (Code 2142)
A nicely produced late 19th century Indian silver small tankard. It is in the Kutch style with animals and village scenes. It is made from heavy gauge silver and quite substantial for it's size. There are no makers marks which is usual for these items, however it tests as silver around the .800 grade.
Along with the decoration it has a shield cartouche for engraving, it may have been intended as a christening mug given this and the size.
A lovely and detailed example with just very minor wear.
