Antique Japanese Souvenir Jewellery Fan Pendant Nagasaki & 84 Zolotniki Mark (Code 2223)
An interesting Japanese souvenir type fan pendant. It has three graduated fan charms each named for a city to the reverse and strung in size order. They are all marked 84 between flower heads an a kind of imitation of a Russian zolotniki mark. The metal has a distinct gold tone, and when tested is inconclusive, perhaps having a small amount of silver, and it definitely has copper content. Since one of the fans is marked for Nagasaki this almost certainly dates the item pre WW2. Note some early 20th century Japanese souvenir spoons from Nagasaki also carry the same mark.
All appear in good order with expected period wear.
