Antique Mansard Paris Porcelain Cabinet Plate by Young Maiden by M Picard (Code 1761)

A late 19th or early 20th century French Paris porcelain plate painted with a young maiden holding flowers.  The white flowers are in raised white enamel and there is a further small patch to the lower right.  The girl is dressed in a purple and turquoise wrap and stands in a naturalistic setting.  The painting is signed by the artist to the lower left as M Picard.  There are decorative gilt bands and a cobalt blue margin.  The makers mark with the street address in Paris (rue de Paradis) is printed to the reverse.  This street is famous for retailing ceramics and glass.

 

Condition


Minor wear to the gilt around the edges, otherwise very good.
