Description

A very early 20th century vase by Minton in their Secessionist style designed by Léon Solon and John Wadsworth. The body is glazed in turquoise blue with ochre and cream panels and tubelined detail.  To the base it has the Minton mark used on the Secessionist range.  It dates circa 1905.

As typical for this range there is variation in tones and colour due to the glaze types used, they also run and pool making each piece unique.

Condition

All over crazing as is expected of Secessionist ware.  A short hairline (approx 14mm) descending from the rim which is little more than a heavy craze line.  Some kiln frit adhered to the body caused during firing.  One small nick to the tubelining (image 2) probably caused by some kiln frit.

Width 8 cm across rim

Weight 308 grams (before packing).
