Antique Moser Bohemian Blue Overlayed Cut & Gilded Glass Spire Decanter c1900 (Code 2158)
A fine quality spire form decanter of tapered shape. The body has been overlayed with royal blue glass and cut back in panel form. There are some gilt numbers to the stopper peg and although there are no makers marks this design is attributed to the Bohemian glass manufacturer Moser. It dates around 1900 and would be used for wine or liqueurs. The panels of blue overlay have gilded edges and the clear glass body has fine hand painted gold work and the same design is reflected in the stopper. The base has a star cut design, and as you would expect for this prestigious factory the overall quality is very high.
A good example, minor gilt rubbing around the top and slight gilt rubbing to the neck.
Height: 37.3 cm (14 3/4 inches) with stopper fitted
Width: 8.8 cm (3 1/2 inches) across base
