Antique Regency Large English Lead Glass Presentation Wheel Engraved Rummer (Code 1251)
A large early 19th century rummer glass with conical foot and merese jointed stem. It is of English production around 1830 and is made in very good quality lead glass. The bowl is engraved with a repeating diamond band and there is a wheel cut wreath with cartouche. The rummer is dedicated with initials, these are co calligraphic that it's very difficult to decipher, but could be JPP or similar. It was a high class item in it's day and would have been engraved to a specific request. The pontil scar is rough snapped to the underside. A lovely collectors or display example.
Very good for period with minor wear and a few light scratches. Some air bubbles in the foot as typical for these pieces.
