Antique Signed Japanese Hand Painted Wisteria Satsuma Ware Pottery Vase (Code 1491)
An early 20th century Satsuma pottery vase. It has a light biscuit colour glaze and this has darkened crazing adding to the aged look. It is hand painted with wisteria style pendulous flowers cascading down the body. The body shape is baluster in form with a slightly rolled out rim. The short neck is decorated with a repeating formal pattern. There is a four character mark to the base which I have been unable to reference to a specific kiln.
All over aged crazing, minor wear.
