Antique Silver & Fitted Leather Purse Card Case with Chain & Mechanical Pencil (Code 2571)
An antique George V ladies purse style card and note wallet. It has a long and short fancy style chain and scroll details around the edges of the case. It opens to reveal a fitted leather interior with pouches and an aide memoire flap which can be written on in pencil. It even includes a small mechanical pencil with engine turned body. The case is hallmarked for Birmingham 1912. The makers mark is a little rubbed but appears to be for Samuel Levi, a well known Birmingham silversmiths. It is etched with initials to the front reading 'AI'.
Exterior with usual period wear of light scratches and scuffs and a few very minor indents. Hinge, clasp and chain are all very good. Interior does have some wear, but overall is very good for the period.
