Antique Solid Silver Soup Ladle Goldsmiths & Silversmiths London 1901 Edwardian (Code 2388)
A large and grand solid silver soup ladle by the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company of London. It has a fiddle pattern handle with a Gothic monogrammed letter. Nicely struck clear hallmarks for London 1901 making it an Edwardian example. Originally intended for soup they are now more commonly used as opulent punch ladles. Very heavy gauge silver, a true luxury item.
Light period wear with minor surface abrasions as you would expect for the age. Very solid construction. Hallmarks clear. A couple of very slight knocks to the bowl, nothing which will show in normal use.
