Antique Staffordshire Pearlware Blue & White Willow Pattern Arcade Border Dish (Code 0183)
An early 19th century blue and white willow pattern dish with an attractive pierced arcade border. It has a pearlware glaze but no makers marks although it is certainly from one of the Staffordshire factories. Possibly originally a dish in it's own right, or perhaps a tray or or stand for a chestnut basket, a popular item at this period.
Fine all over crazing. Spur marks to reverse from firing. Slight glaze chips here and there. Some underglaze discolouration (browning) to the left side, largely to the underneath.
