Antique Victorian Finely Etched Glass Comport / Sweetmeat Stand with Flowers (Code 2425)

  • £000

Description

A very pretty late Victorian small comport.  It is finely etched with a pattern of dots and floral designs in the Stourbridge style, this work is of course all hand done.  It is quite finely hand blown typical for end of the 19th century. The stem is hollow and joined to the bowl with a bobbin section.  It would have been used for mints, sugared almonds etc but you can of course use it however you wish.  There are no maker marks, English glass of this period was rarely marked.  The style makes it likely of Webb or Stevens & Williams origin or another of the high end Stourbridge firms of the period.

Condition

Particularly good for period, wear is very low.  A fine example.
