Antique Victorian Mother Of Pearl Small Jewel/Trinket Box c.1870 (Code A287)
A late 19th Century Victorian period small mother of pearl clad box. It is of rectangular form and has a canted lid and two small brass hinges. It has a spring friction tab for keeping it closed and it stands on four bun feet. The interior is line with pink satin which appears as if it may be the original to the box.
A lovely example of its type and one of the nicest I have seen in a long time with all the original mother of pearl panels. These small trinket boxes were often used to house a treasured ring or other keepsake, but you can of course use it for anything you wish.
Depth : 4 cm
Weight: 42.5 grams (before packing)
Condition: Very good for period with very limited wear. Panels all appear original. Hinges and latch good. Even the interior is good considering the age.
Code: A287 JL20-7
