Antique/Vintage Masonic Lodge Rotating Brass Sign Liberty Hall Strict Order (Code 1601)
An early 20th century masonic lodge rotating sign. It has 'Liberty Hall' and 'Strict Order' on opposing faces. The metal work is lacquered brass and the sign, supports and candlesticks are fixed to an oak plinth. You do see this signs come up from time to time, but they are most usually found in wood. There does not appear to be any makers details or lodge numbers. The brass is nicely patinated giving a perfect original aged look. Being brass you could of course strip the lacquer and polish to a bright finish should you wish to do this. Great fun for a dinner party, have it awaiting guests as they enter the dining room.
Lots of patination to the brass - see images. Screw holding the plaque mount in place looks to be a later replacement. Felt to plinth is a replacement. Indent to oak top. No enamel in the Liberty Hall letters, was perhaps originally red like the Strict Order side.
