Antique Bohemian Champagne Flute Glass with Gilded Design c1800 (Code 0391)
A German or Bohemian champagne flute glass dating to the late 18th or early 19th century (1780-1810). The bowl is of tall form and it cut with flutes over the entirety. The stem is of baluster shape with a top knop, and this is also flute cut. The foot is plain with a ground and polished pontil. The glass is of soda type as you would expect for the region of production. The bowl is gilded with quite an elaborate classical deign.
Some gilt wear but less than usual given the date with the majority intact. Pontil scar not fully ground out. Foot is somewhat out of round and offset.
