Each end terminates in a swivel dog clip for attaching a pocket watch, sovereign case, fob or other accessory.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe T bar carries a part British silver hallmark for 1910 together with the maker's mark HP, probably for Henry Pope. The dog clips carry corresponding silver marks. The individual links are also struck with lion passant marks for sterling silver, although many have softened through more than a century of wear.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDouble Albert chains were designed to be worn across a waistcoat, normally with the T bar passed through a buttonhole and a pocket watch attached at one side.
