George III Antique Rummer Drinking Glass, English Lead Type & Petal Flutes c1800 (Code 2429)
A large rummer drinking glass dating around 1800 to the end of the reign of George III. The bowl has broad petal moulded flutes and a merese joint to the capstan stem. The foot is conical and the pontil scar has been left rough. It is made from English lead glass and the good quality suggests it was a domestic rather than tavern example.
Good for period, some scuffs and scratches around the bowl at the widest point and good period wear to the foot. Foot is slightly out of true so it has a small rock on a flat surface.
