Georgian Antique Silver Gilt Vinaigrette with Fine Pierced Screen B'ham 1820 (Code 1724)
A fine Georgian period silver gilt vinaigrette with chased floral detail in the bright cut style. It has a Birmingham hallmark, the date letter is for 1820 making it all but 200 years old. The interior screen is finely pierced with a floral and foliate design and finished in gilt as is the interior as a whole. The makers mark appears to be for Thomas & William Simpson. The top face has initials at the bottom which look like MC or similar and to the underside it is also marked ElizH(beth) Parsons along with an unusual vermiform panel. A lovely quality example.
Generally very good for period, minor wear, no significant faults.
