Georgian Silver Toddy Ladle with Twisted Baleen Handle & Pouring Lip c1825 (Code 2400)
An early 19th century toddy ladle with a long baleen handle having a silver end cap. The handle is of square section for approx 3/4 of the length and has a gentle twist. The silver shaft is riveted to the bowl and the bowl has a pronounced pouring lip. The hallmarks are somewhat rubbed but can be made out as London 1825 making it George IV period.
Normal age related wear, light abrasions and minor denting. Hallmarks partly rubbed. The rivets connecting the bowl to the handle have some movement
