Pair Antique Cast Silver Grape Scissors by Dutch Silversmith Hubertus Hooijkaas (Code 2201)

  • £14500

Description

A pair of silver grape scissors by the Dutch silversmith Hubertus Hooijkaas.  They are cast silver and have grapes and leaves as the classic decoration with the handles formed as vines.  The reverse has small stud to hold them off the table making them easier to pick up, and handily displaying them nicely at the same time.  They have the makers mark to the blade and the 90 mark for the silver grade (90%).  They date to the inter-war period and are a lovely decorative pair.

Condition

Minor wear, generally very good.  Blades have dulled so no longer cut.
