Antique Chinese Cast Bronze Vase Pair with Auspicious Symbols & Dragon Heads (Code 1957)

  • £39500

A pair of Chinese cast bronze vases dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. They are quite substantial examples with thick walls and overall heavy weight. They are decorated with fantastical birds and auspicious cloud symbology with pennant forms below having dragon faces. There are no marks at all which is common for older examples such as these. They have been kept relatively clean and would polish bright should you wish to do so. Some nice verdigris forming in the crevices increasing the antique look of them. A good decorative pair large enough to feature as a display in their own right.

Good for period, some verdigris building. Minor wear, a few scratches and knocks as expected. One with small indents to the rim possibly from production.
