Description

This pair of unusually formed vases are by the Imperial Amphora pottery works of Teplitz in Austria.  They date to the very early 20th century c1905 and have studded handles and reticulated round bosses to the bodies. The colours are in muted greens and blue over an off white ground.  The shapes to me have the feel of some sort of sea creature.  These are known as Morania vases and this is detailed to the bases along with the Amphora marks, crown and numerals.  The design is quite uncommon so finding a pair is a very nice bonus.

Condition

Minor wear and crazing.  One vase has a small hole drilled near the base, perhaps a previous owner was going to convert one to a lamp, however the hole seems a little small for electrical flex.
